Dr. Markar leads UWI’s strategic relationships with institutional investors, government-linked agencies and financial institutions.

Dr. Markar has extensive banking experience throughout Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council states. In various roles, including Head of Special Projects in The Executive Office of Dubai, Dr. Markar participated in establishing the initial operational and governance strategies for the Dubai International Financial Center. Prior to that, he worked at McKinsey & Company as a management consultant in South East Asia in the finance, technology and telecommunications industries focusing on post-merger management and business building.

Dr. Markar earned his Doctorate in Corporate Finance and MPhil in Finance from the University of Cambridge (UK).
