Iskandar’s Medini 9 Tower Now Completed

Officials in the state of Johor celebrated the completion of a new 21-storey mixed-use tower in Medini via a grand ceremony attended by Iskandar Puteri Mayor Tuan Haji Adib Azhari Daud and Chief Minister YAB Dato’ Osman Sapian.
Dubbed as Medini 9, the project has a gross development value of more than RM300 million and is currently the tallest commercial building in Medini City, which situated in the outskirts of MSC Cybercentre.
With a gross floor area of 812,000 sq ft, the diamond-shaped building has a ground floor retail space, five storeys of podium carpark and 15 levels of premium office space, along with two basement parking space.
It was built by Medini Iskandar Malaysia (MIM), the master planner and master developer of the 2,230-acre Medini township in Iskandar Puteri. Japan’s Mitsui & Co and United World Infrastructure each owns 20 percent of the company, while the remaining 60 percent is held by Jasmine Acres, which is jointly owned by Khazanah Nasional and Iskandar Investment Bhd.
Aside from having the MSC-status, the building is also certified under the Green Building Index (GBI). This means it building comes with many high tech and eco-friendly features, like cantilevered glass pods, sophisticated security system and solar powered common areas, plus an integrated fire alarm & monitoring system.
“Medini 9 reflects our aspiration to create a flagship building that is both smart and green, and also meets sustainability standards. We are pleased to announce that the completion and launching of Medini 9 is on time,” said MIM’s Managing Director and CEO Dr James Tee.
Its tenants include global accounting firm Ernst & Young and Japan’s OK BLOCKCHAIN CENTRE. Two Japanese game developers – OKAKICHI and Deluxe Games – have also agreed to establish a presence there.
